Day 1

Day 1: Kathmandu Valley Heritage Ride

After a short briefing, ride to Kathmandu Durbar Square to see Hanuman Dhoka Palace and the surrounding temple complex. Continue to Patan Durbar Square in Lalitpur for its Newari architecture and the Patan Museum, then on to Bhaktapur Durbar Square, where the old town's brick lanes and the Nyatapola Temple are worth slowing down for. Overnight in Kathmandu. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.

Day 2

Day 2: Test Ride to Nagarkot, Changunarayan, and Bhaktapur (70 km)

Begin your day by having a big breakfast, followed by getting acquainted with your motorbike and efficient safety tips by your guide. Take a leisurely drive to Nagarkot, a delightful hill station providing magnificent views of the Himalayas and the surrounding green scapes (i.e., vegetation). Walk to the Nagarkot View Tower to see a stunning view. Continue your ride to Changunarayan Temple, one of Nepal's oldest Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Learn about its unique history while taking in views of the surrounding mountains. Following lunch, go to Bhaktapur, a historical town with old buildings and a strong Newari culture. See Bhaktapur Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its finely preserved palace, temple, and courtyard structures. Overnight stay in Bhaktapur.

Day 3

Day 3: Nagarkot Sunrise, Ride to Namobuddha, Overnight in Dhulikhel

Wake early for sunrise over the Himalayan range from Nagarkot's viewpoint tower. After breakfast, ride down toward Namobuddha, visiting the stupa and monastery on the hilltop. From there, continue the short distance to Dhulikhel, with the afternoon free to walk the old town's heritage square and catch the evening light over the hills before settling in for the night.

Day 4: Dhulikhel to Kathmandu

Best Time to Ride the Kathmandu Valley Circuit

The best seasons are autumn (September to November) and spring (March to May). Autumn brings the clearest mountain views from Nagarkot; spring brings warmer riding weather, though some haze can soften the distant peaks. Winter (December to February) is cold in the early mornings at Nagarkot but otherwise rideable. Monsoon (June to August) brings heavy rain and reduces visibility on the sunrise viewpoint.
